Designing: Before any printing can occur, you need to have an idea of what you want to print. Designing an object can be anything from a document detailing all aspects of the design, to a simple sketch.
Conceptual Design: After you have an idea or design, it’s time to put the ‘idea’ to ‘paper’. Next, you should create sketches, renderings and full model sheets. Creating solid orthographic drawings and architectural blueprints will aid in maintaining the full vision of your product.

Modeling: With all the ideas down on paper, it’s time to create the 3D version of your design. By using any 3D application (3DS Max, Maya, Blender, CAD, XSI, Lightwave, etc) you need to model the object in all its detail. Be sure to include every aspect you can think of since it will show up in print.
